Egypt is on its way to acquiring Chinese J-10C fighter jets, enhancing its offensive capabilities

In a move that raises numerous questions on both military and diplomatic fronts, Israeli media reports suggest that Egypt may be on the verge of acquiring advanced Chinese fighter jets, the J-10C, which would grant it new offensive capabilities that could alter the balance of power in the region.

The potential deal, which includes fighter jets equipped with long-range air-to-air missiles, is considered a direct threat to Israeli security, as these missiles have a range of up to 300 kilometers, enabling the Egyptian Air Force to target Israeli aircraft from long distances without needing to be in direct visual range.

The Israeli website "nziv" pointed out that these jets could be part of a deal that includes the J-10C, which is highly capable of performing a wide range of combat missions, including air combat and ground attacks. The jet is equipped with an advanced AESA radar and PL-15 and PL-10 missiles, making it a 4.5-generation fighter aircraft.

Israel is closely monitoring this development, as the Egyptian Air Force had previously been supplied with advanced aircraft and equipment by other countries. However, with Egypt's potential decision to expand its military capabilities with this type of Chinese aircraft, it could create a new balance of power in the region.

On the other hand, Egypt's request for similar technology was previously rejected by Western countries such as the United States and France, due to Israeli pressure, making the acquisition of these Chinese fighter jets a strategic move to strengthen Egypt’s air force.

Questions remain about how this deal will affect regional and international relations, particularly with Israel and the United States, and how the involved parties will deal with future challenges.
