تلقى السيد الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي اتصالاً هاتفياً من الرئيس الأمريكي جو بايدن، تم خلاله تناول تطورات الأوضاع في قطاع غزة، حيث أعرب الرئيس الأمريكي عن بالغ تقديره للجهود والوساطة المصرية المكثفة والدؤوبة والمستمرة للتوصل إلى وقف إطلاق للنار واتفاق للهدنة في القطاع، وتم الاتفاق على ضرورة تكثيف الجهود الدولية لإنجاح مسار التفاوض وتحقيق انفراجة تنهي المأساة الإنسانية الممتدة التي يعيشها الشعب الفلسطيني.

وفي ذلك السياق، بحث الرئيسان الموقف الإنساني الصعب للفلسطينيين في قطاع غزة، وانعدام سبل الحياة بالقطاع، وعدم توافر الوقود اللازم للمستشفيات والمخابز، حيث اتفق الرئيسان في هذا الصدد على دفع كميات من المساعدات الإنسانية والوقود، لتسليمها إلى الأمم المتحدة في معبر كرم أبو سالم، وذلك بصورة مؤقتة، لحين التوصل إلى آلية قانونية لإعادة تشغيل معبر رفح من الجانب الفلسطيني.

كما تضمن الاتصال تأكيد ضرورة تضافر المساعي المختلفة لإنفاذ حل الدولتين وفقاً لقرارات الشرعية الدولية، فضلاً عن تأكيد الرئيسين رفضهما كافة محاولات تهجير الفلسطينيين خارج أرضهم، ودعمهما لكل السبل الهادفة لمنع تفاقم وتوسع الصراع.
